The United Kingdom Under 18 Squad for the World Championships in Traiskirchen, Austria has been announced today.

Combining the emerging talents from UK schools and colleges, the under 18 squads represent a major achievement for Tchoukball UK as coach and former UK under 18 player Dom Raeyen was keen to comment:

They have been impressing senior players and spectators alike

"All three coaches are really looking forward to how this squad will cope with their first taste of international tchoukball. They have been performing consistently well in Tchoukball UK's flagship competition, the National League, and impressing senior players and spectators alike.  Putting effort and teaching into practice has seen the squad improve fantastically, and turning that commitment into medals in Austria would be a just reward for them."

Fellow coach Janine Lesiak was also quick to point out the strides the under 18 game has made:

"The decision was obviously very tough - there was some amazing quality throughout the trials, and we had to select the final squad from more than 25 players. This just shows the strength in depth youth tchoukball has in this country, and the quality of the team we will be taking to Austria."

Mike Harman, defensive coach said:

"The journey we've taken to select the squad whilst putting everyone through their paces has been very vigorous, and it's improved our own coaching standards. The team will be learning from us leading up to the World Championships, but we'll be learning from them as well, and that will help us to shape the future of tghe UK's tchoukball teams. We are very excited to see how they get on in Austria."

The new squad will train for the first time together at Alexander Sports Centre, Bedford on Sunday 20th February 13:00-16:00.
