Tchoukball UK’s Board of Directors unanimously approved a restructure at the top level this weekend. With outgoing Communications Director Andrew St Ledger leaving, the Board decided it was a good time to review the structure needed to deliver real value to players and stakeholders.
After reviewing the work of the last 3 years, Chief Executive Philip Moore proposed that no replacement Communications Director would be appointed at Board level and that Ian Parker (pictured) would be officially appointed Head of Communications for Tchoukball UK after months of hard work in that area, working with Operations Director, Richard Jackson.
Moore explained his thoughts behind the restructuring:
“Andrew’s departure gave us cause to look at the work of the Board and to see if we could run things more efficiently. Much of Andrew’s work had been at a high level with stakeholders from government and in the third sector of sport. I will be taking on many of the networking responsibilities of that role but there was still a need to get someone in place to provide a voice for Tchoukball UK on our website and lead regions in promoting some of the great local work we do.”
“Ian Parker has done some stellar work in this area over the past 6 months and he was the natural choice as Head of Communications.”
Richard Jackson, Operations Director added:
“Ian has worked closely with me and the Heads of Competitions and Development. At a day to day level, these two areas are generating news that needs to be shared with our members and wider audience. I’m thrilled to welcome Ian to the team. Ian is a professional journalist that will bring a great deal of expertise to our communications.”
Tchoukball UK’s Marketing work will be shared across the business using outside agencies where appropriate to deliver the best combination of expertise and value.
