It’s with a heavy heart that the Euro 2020 Organising Committee has asked the International Tchoukball Federation (FITB) for postponement of the 2020 European Tchoukball Championships (ETC) and European Youth Tchoukball Championships (EYTC) set to take place 1-10 August in Leeds.

It is not a decision we have taken lightly, but the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe has left us with little choice. Even if Europe were to return to a (semi-)normal state of affairs this summer, the risk of infection during the event, as well as the risk to players not having been able to carry out the necessary training and preparation required, means it is not feasible to run the competition at this point in time.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the European National Federations for their continued support during these troubled times. We stand united and with your help, and the support of FITB, we will work to deliver these Championships in the best possible format for the sport. We look forward to continuing our work towards the next European Championships and promise to deliver a competition to remember. The next edition is likely to run in either 2021 or 2022, we will confirm once we know more.

We would also like to thank the wider tchoukball community and players across Europe for keeping your spirits up. We will be back and we will play tchoukball again but for now just let your knee pads rest.

Stay home, stay safe.

UPDATE 02/05/20: The FITB has confirmed that the ETC and EYTC will be postponed to 2021. We will be back with updated dates and information by the end of this summer.
