It was Fareham Rhinos who sat atop of the Super League after round one following two convincing victories while it was four wins from four for Guildford’s teams.

Fareham, who finished bottom of the division last season, were dominant in their matches winning 73-42 against Headingley Outlaws and 68-44 against Bury Saints, both sides promoted from the first division at the end of last season.

Alongside Fareham it was Guildford who stood out on day one.

The club’s first team, Inferno, recorded an impressive victory against reigning champions Bury Kings winning 57-50, before defeating Leeds Galaxy 57-37.

Kings regained some pride with a 65-44 victory over Bury Saints to end the day in third.

Portsmouth Drakes sit fourth after beating Headingley 66-51.

They sit above Leeds Galaxy despite Galaxy emerging victorious in the match between the two sides, winning 65-52, with Headingley in sixth and Saints in seventh.

In division one it is Guildford Ignite who sit in pole position for promotion after winning their games against Southampton Stags 64-42 and Portsmouth Ducks 66-37, respectively.

Last year’s fourth placed team, Bury Wolves, sit second after beating Leeds Cosmos 63-48 and Portsmouth Uni Pythons 61-51.

Pythons themselves defeated Portsmouth Ducks 64-43 to end the day in third, with Cosmos in fourth after a 44-29 victory over new side Portsmouth Uni Pingus.

In fifth are Stags after they also defeated Pingus, theirs a 50-29 victory with Pingus in sixth and Ducks in seventh.
